I have a few similar to this one [one says NHRA IRA] approved, this one does not ,this one looks like it was made in Italy for a corvette???

My guess (and I don't speak Italian) but "impacto" is the word I focused on. The shape also. Could this be some sort of shroud for protection in the bell housing area?

BTW, here is an Italian "corvette" https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif

Looks like a 2 piece bellhousing for sure , but only because of the mounting area to the block and the shape, i cant see how this would mount to the trans..I do know Palmini Eng. did alot of vintage go kart and atv stuff.

Re: Can someone identify this part?

A lot of Italian speedboat manufacturers used Chevy Marine engines. They were sometimes very special, like when they had dual propulsion one engine could go clockwise and the other anti-clockwise. They made a lot of specialparts for the propellershaft and reverseunits.

This part might be from a boat.

Re: Can someone identify this part?

Since there's no tranny bolts I wonder if it's a scattershield apparatus that bolts on over the stock bell housing using longer mounting bolts into the block? See if it fits over a bellhousing.

Just a guess based on the use of the "Impacto" word.

I thought exactly that at first, but there is no way it will fit over a bellhousing . It is listed as a chevy V* scattershield, but maybe there are more parts to this that replace the stock bell?

most likely a V-Drive boat, nothing but a flywheel and coupler to contain at the back of the motor if it flew apart. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
