Harrison heater core question
I have my original heater core from my 68 BB nova and it has a stamping of 67M. This is December of 67 correct. The build date is 5d for the car. Most people say parts should be dated no more than 3 months. Is this odd that it is 5 months out from my build date.
Thanks Jason |
Re: Harrison heater core question
Odd yes , but certainly possible.

Re: Harrison heater core question
Jason , .....My guess is that's the original, no question, I don't think GM employees were too concerned with the date stamped, but rather was it the correct part No for the engine at hand ??.Great looking Nova too !!

Re: Harrison heater core question
My 70 L78 Nova had 69L core in it and a build date of 05B (April 2nd week 70)Car has been off the road since 76, never touched heater box, definitely the original core

Re: Harrison heater core question
This car has been off the road so long that I know it is original. I didn't realize there was a date code on it until someone mentioned it in another post. Does anyone know if it can be re-cored or fixed. It does have some leaks! Just a bunch of pin holes if I remember correctly.

Re: Harrison heater core question
I don't know how severe you pin holes are,but any local radiator shop can recore that.
Just have them remove your original Harrison tanks and prefix tag & re-install them on a new world Modine center core or similar if you like, for reliability. |
Re: Harrison heater core question
Sully 05b is May correct. So this is not uncommon thanks for the input. My car has been off the road since 1980 or so. I will look into having my original re-cored thanks again.

Re: Harrison heater core question
Your right Jason, May 70, my 69 L78 is April. I had my local radiator guy completely go through my orig core, pressure tested it etc. $30 bucks. They usually leak where the pipes go into the core itself
