Clutch Replacement

I am considering buying the heavy duty AC Delco Clutch Kit for my Chevelle. Does anyone have one in their car? Just looking for some feedback on the product. Good or bad.

I put an ACD clutch kit in my GTO a couple of years ago. I don't remember any mention of Heavy Duty, so maybe it was a std. one?? It was "Hecho in Mexico"

It's great around town, good pedal. When running it hard, it slips a little between gears. Could be a possibility that I didnt observe the proper break-in period, though https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

The last two Ive built used Mcleod and CFIIs. I was very pleased with the pedal on both of them.

I would use a Centerforce. It has a soft pedal that is easier on all the linkage etc and is very strong.

I agree with Charley...it holds very well with a decent pedal.

I've got a Hays Clutch in my 67 Camaro and really like it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif It has just the right pedal feel.

I like the CFII's as well..put a Hays in my COPO..lasted 62 miles before I had to change it out due to excessive chattering.

I just used a Hays (strip diaphram) and after about 200 miles it's starting to Chatter also. I'm going to use centerforce next time.

I always use GM clutch and pressure plate, in my 70 chevelle and my 68 camaro never had a problem. I had one in my 66 chevelle ss beat the hell out of it lasted 40 thousnad miles.

I also use the GM ones Peter but not the one in the picture. That assembly is different than what we have got in the past.Like you everthing from a ls-6 to a 454 mud bogger with 513's and lockers. Talk about torque and never a problem. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
