Re: Mecum Overview.

Id venture a guess that 40% sales rate at Mecum means more cars actually changed hands than at some of the 100% sales rate auctions where 75% of the cars sold never went anywhere but back in the sellers trailer. I still say mecum is by far the #1 outfit for muscle cars and the like. Thanks for the post i was wondering what the final results were.

This morning at the coffee shop I parked next to a GTO Judge convertible. I don't know much about GTO's but this looked to be about a 1971. It was an automatic and bright orange. Looked like an older restoration - good paint with a few bubbles and chips. There was a 455 decal on each side of the rear wing. Could this have been a $250-$350k car like the 2 from this auction?

I don't know how nice the LS6 was now but it was at Russo@Steele Monterey a few yars ago and it had a very poor resto back then. Lots of poor floor patch work back then. A real car that basically needed another resto.

Re: Mecum Overview.

I beleive the car had just received another restoration, possesed its original drivetrain and had good documentation. It had just been "Diamond Certified" but I'm not aware of its score. The lack of options is whats thought to have hampered the bids. A "buyers auction" it must be..says Yoda!

Someone though highly of it. I believe I saw Reggie wiping it down before it went thru...

There were two different Fathom Blue LS-6 4 spd Convertibles for sale at Mecum/Rockford this past weekend.

Reggie Jackson brought his CLONE through on Friday evening.
I didn't see the final gavel on it.

Then John O. brought the Original Wisconsin HULT CHEVROLET/Volo/Hemmings-Lukason in Fla./and just restored this past winter by Gary, then Diamond certified, that sold for 350K on Saturday afternoon.
I thought it was one of the most honest, enjoyable and easily accessible & professional auctions that Dana has ever hosted.
