Thought this was an interesting story, any truth to this?

Re: Ebay ZL1 Build
Same one? I don't have time to reread it rught now but I remember reading about it. Seems to me it was a clone and magazine feature car. I see you posted in that thread so maybe it is not related. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
ZL-1 Prototype |
Re: Ebay ZL1 Build
I believe that this new "Tribute" car, as the seller states in that waaay too long write up, will be as nice of a clone as money can buy. Al Wallace, when he lived in the Dayton area, did do all of the research and then built his car to the COPO specs that Chevy had used for the 2 mules that were built. The picture of the car in front of the Chevy building at the GM Tech center, as well as the picture next to it in the auction are of Al's car. He emailed me copies of them at least 10 years ago. The car was both functional and a work of art by Al. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif
As for the thread, Motown stopped posting here a long time ago, after his credibility was challanged by other members on this board. No evidence of the lost ZL1 prototype was ever presented, so it remains a mystery. I would love to see it found and restored, but then again, I would love to hit the lotto. Same odds, IMHO. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif |
