option question

Would like to know if there was ever such a thing as delete options for a 71'camaro Z-28. I have a 71'camaro Z-28
& it has no option's,was told when I was in arizona that they could delete option's in 71' for racing purposes but still retain the Z-28 nameplate. Is any of this true at all?
thanks in advance for any help on this! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Re: option question

There really is no such thing as a "delete option." It's just like buying a car today - If you didn't pay for something extra on your car, you didnt get it. It's that simple. I love how B-J Auction guys are always hyping the "radio delete option" on this car or that. No such animal. They just didnt spend the extra 50 bucks for an AM radio.

It's like bragging that my run of the mill, base model, six cylinder 69 camaro was built with the "COPO 427 Delete" option and that's why it has the 6 in it instead of a ZL1. So it should be worth twice was a regular ZL1 is worth.

Don't foget 'options' like C48 Heater Delete or that '65 Vette one to delete Disc brakes and get a credit for drums...not common but there's a few others too..

Those are more like credits, but I get your meaning. Some new cars today have the "delete front license plate bracket" credit if you're in a state that doesn't require them.

color code seems to be classic copper w/ black stripes.
