Re: 1970 440 6 Pack Road Runner Coupe
Thanks Wes, someone is going to end up with a very nice 440 6pack Road Runner Coupe. Only around 200 automatics were produced and very few of those were in high-impact colors.

Steve
After it was purchased by the current owner the rotating assembly came apart wile driving at normal speeds and destroyed the bottom end of the engine. A rod came through the oil pan as well as the back of the block. The cam was in three pieces, a hand full of lifters were broken in half and It sheered the bolts off the torque converter. Bummer.... The block was replaced with a correct date coded 440 6 pack block. The engine and the trans have been completely rebuilt. Evidently due to a miscommunication the original block was not kept. I have to say that this owner could have easily restamped a block and know one would have known but he and I. He should be commended |

OUCH! I figured that's what it was but was a little confused by the wording. Did he keep the original pieces for posterity? This way, in the future when they create the "Re-Enginizer 2050," they can weld it all back together good as new. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
