63 409 Impala on Ebay??

Got a buddy that is looking for a 63 Impala SS. Anyone seen this car or these pictures before??

63 Impala SS

Looks sort of scammy to me, but it might be real. Everyone has to have a first auction but why does it have to be a 409..... and so far away. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Bill,
The radio block off is from a Biscayne or Belair (no trim). IT should match the other dash trim. Green floors? That's a new one. Appears to have had a cowl air breather set-up and now is blocked off. Also noticed the wrong bell housing. Very odd the seller says he wants 11K for a completely restored car. Sounds very fishy. It is a nicely detailed car though with nice equipment. Should be worth 3-4 times that.(even with the errors)

PS: wish I could see the cowl tag....

Looks scammy alright but you never know?.
That statement of "The price I hope to obtain on this vehicle is 11,200" is a good sign someones looking for a quick deposit forwarded to them by someone (or more) excited guys in a rush?.
Also using 'the real deal' etc. in their ad seems off for a seller who mentions the low expected amount...maybe the ad's been 'lifted' from a previous auction?.

That's has GOT to be a complete scam. You could sell fifty of those at 11.2 and have guys lined up down the street to buy 500 more.

Yep! That's one of the most annoying restoration mistakes I see on '62s & '63s. They put tons of time and $$$ into a nut & bolt restoration, then go to NAPA and buy a master!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif
Just dumb!

BTW, that master on my '62 is still the original (even though I added the dealer booster kit)

I agree. Don't be surprised if the auction ends early. I did check all my records, including a separate dbase on every ebay car (58-64) that's been listed for the last 3 years, and the VIN doesn't turn up, so I can't add any history to it.

Luckily for me I can spot 409 clone "mistakes" a mile away. My dad did 409's for years and was involved in clubs etc and taught me every single little detail when it comes to those cars. I wouldn't be surprised if it had the small fuel line too.
