https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif As Veterans Day approaches, I hope we all take the time to thank at least one man or woman who has put themselves in harms way so we can be safe and enjoy our freedoms.

With a son, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law in the Canadian armed forces,we give thanks and show appreciation every day. Dave and Chad have been in Bosnia, Kosovo, and Kabul Afghanistan. They sure appreciate home. Our soldiers don't get half the appreciation they deserve, but we try. We know where we will be on Sunday at 11 AM, at the cenotaph for the wreath laying.

I work in a region with a big military presence, every now & then, I get a chance to "return the favor" to some of our service men & women. Half of them are Iraq vets, you could not find a better community of people. Don't forget them.

BTW, the day before (Nov. 10th) is also the USMC's 232nd birthday. At any family gathering, I am always surrounded by a host of active duty and retired Marines, one of them has been reminding me all week. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif Definition of a Veteran https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life".

That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.
