Air shock color
I can't seem to find an answer to this question: What color were the air shocks originally in 69 ElCamino's.

Re: Air shock color
The ones on our '69 are yellow, probaly Monroe or some other aftermarket pieces. They might be terrible for cornering or drag racing but they are handy for loads or getting the right stance. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

I remember working on these when I did my class hours at the GM dealership in the mid-late 70's.White were on some GM's, light gray on others mostly late 60's full size and a light blue also maybe around 70 and up but I recall my friends 69 elcamino having a brownish copper color set like these truck ones on e-bay originally. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-1972...1QQcmdZViewItem Not 100% sure what is correct https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |
Re: Air shock color
The Delco air shocks that you could buy at the local auto parts store were the dark copper color. The air line hook ups were different from the factory installed air shocks.

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks John for the clarification.Back then color didnot mean too much to us, usually just fixing the lines was our concern. If the guy said they were original we believed him. What about the light blue ones like this set were they gm http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-...QQcmdZViewItem |
