RPO codes for tinted glass
Per my GM documentation, the following codes:
A01: Body Glass - Tinted A02: Windshield Glass - Tinted A04: Side Glass - Tinted A05: Windshield Glass Rear - Tinted If a '69 Nova's broadcast sheet has the codes A01 & A02, does that indicate that A01 includes side and rear tinted glass but not the windshield - hence the reason for listing A02? Or is the existence of A02 simply a duplication of the tinted windshield that is included with A01? Short question: Does A01 include a tinted windshield under the term 'body glass'? |
Re: RPO codes for tinted glass
Short answer:Yes.

Re: RPO codes for tinted glass
Ok, then why would the broadcast sheet include both A01 & A02? Wouldn't tjat be redundant?

Re: RPO codes for tinted glass
Isn't it the A01 is for all body glass tinted and A02 the w'shld w/ the upper shading...so if you wanted both you'd need both options noted?.

Re: RPO codes for tinted glass
AO1 includes the w'shld w/the upper shading.
Isn't the broadcast sheet notorious for being vague or repeating other body codes/provisions as well?..Whenever I see buildsheets, dealer invoices, window stickers on other vehicles callout AO1,the vehicles themselves show they were built with tinted glass all around.Even Salesmans materials define it as such. Broadcast sheets on the whole,to me,are the most confusing to decipher. |
Re: RPO codes for tinted glass
I agree on the confusing part - hence the question! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
Either way, this car should have all tinted windows. |
Re: RPO codes for tinted glass
OUr 396 car has the A01 tinted glass. All glass including the windshield is tinted.
