Need to know what its worth
I'm looking to sell a complete 350 C.I. 300HP engine out of a 69 Beaumont with 50,000 miles.Block 4 bolt main #3932388,heads #3947041, crankshaft #3932442,carb, water pump, alternator, starter, distributor are all included.By the looks of it i would say that all it needs is to be freshened up. Any idea on what it's worth.
Thanks Hector |
Re: Need to know what its worth
Are there still stamped build/suffix & Vin #'s on the deck pad...and if so, what are they?.

Re: Need to know what its worth
We need some dates Hector and if there are any spun bearings, cracks etc. Was the water pump, alternator or starter replaced? Is the carb original to the motor? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Need to know what its worth
Thanks Guys, I will try and answer as many of these questions as possible now. I haven't taken the engine apart yet, only the valve covers, oil pan and intake.Front engine pad #TO325HA, date code A 7 9, back of block passenger side T21, CONV1. heads date code C21 9, crankshaft date code
C-3-9, alternator 1100 834 37A, date code 9 C 26,carburator Quadrajet 36021, 29203DY 0249, 37333. I was the second owner of the Beaumont, I've parted out quite a few parts but hung on to the motor and trani. This guy in town heard that I had this engine and wants me to sell it to him for a Nova project that he has, before a sell it i would like to know what it's worth. If you are interested I have a letter from the previous owner on what he did to the car while he owned it. I have the air cleaner it's in real good condition because he took it off, wrap it in a plastic bag and put on an after market one on. No manifolds, he had headers on the car. There has been some modification done to the engine from what he says inhis letter, crane drag competition cam installed, steel timing gears, speed pro piston rings, new lifters and rocker arms along with heavy duty pushrods, heads reworked by professional builder for racing purpose, windage tray. I will have to check for the numbers on the water pump and starter. I will also have to tear down the engine to check for spun bearings etc.. I will take pictures and post them(how do you do that)if anybody is interested Hope i didn't bore anyone Thanks for the help Hector |

Re: Need to know what its worth
Hector,
I recently purchased a 350 300 010 block motor with 486 heads. In running condition less carb and manifolds for $1,000. Yours is more complete and dated for a 69 application. It should be worth $1,500. Sell it and help get another nova back on the road. Earl |
Re: Need to know what its worth
Sold it this morning for $1000.00. I would like to know why the interest in the suffix #'s that was on the front pad of the engine?
Anybody here going to Speedorama in Toronto? If you are check out The AutoDream Group booth they have a few cars there, my son Keith works for them. I will be going up Sunday morning Hector |
Re: Need to know what its worth
The suffix numbers tell you what car the motor came out of and what trans type. It's like decoding a rear end. The Prefix letters tell you what type of rear end it is. IE. 10 bolt posi with 3.55 gears or a 2.73 open 10 bolt. You get the idea.

Re: Need to know what its worth
I don't understand(new to this, trying to learn before I start on my own restoration) why that would matter because there is only one original motor that belongs to a certain car, anything else you put in is not original. To you Nova guys, will the 69 Beaumont 350 engine fit right into the Nova(6 cylunder car) or what is he going to have to change or replace?
Thanks Hector |
