bringing motor from the sates into canada
 
hello i bought a 1965 409 motor that needs rebuilt from the states and was wondering if the guy bringing it into canada has to have anyting or what he has to do ? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif tryed phoning both border crossing's but got the run around does any one have experience with this thanks

I wouldn't sweat it. It's "Antique Auto Parts". If they need to know, it's a rebuildable core. There shouldn't be any duty on it, but expect to have to pay tax based on what you paid. They may try to get you with "what's it worth?" if they feel it's undervalued, so make certain you've got a proper receipt from the seller. I've brought several motors across without hassle, just depends on who you get at the crossing...

Just make sure you have a reciept with you when bringing it across.

and the sellers phone number, I have sent a few across to the north, with clear sold as is paperwork no issues.

once my buddy from the north bought a boat down here and they did call the seller to check out all the details.
