Re: 1969 COPO Nova Question

If you're talking about a high performance COPO, ie: factory 427...no.

Excluding Taxis, Police cars, etc., NO COPO Novas in '69. (That we know of. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif )

Re: 1969 COPO Nova Question

A 1969 Yenko Nova 427 was dealer installed like the 1967 and 1968 Camaro. Which, to my understanding, is not a COPO but still came with a GM warranty. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Here is a site that I have saved on my computer http://www.corvettes-musclecars.com/...s/69YenkoNova/

What is amazing is 10.90's in the quarter with slicks and little modifications. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif

One advantage the Nova has over the Camaro is that the trunk is longer so it gives better weight transfer. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

hasnt Kevin's Nova been somewhat of an gray area on this matter? i believe at one time he had reason to believe his left the factory with a 427. i believe i read this a handfull of years ago.

Re: 1969 COPO Nova Question

The gray has become clear, it's not a copo - the broadcast sheet was misaligned when printed and each row of codes is located one row down on the sheet. This put the 'L78' code in the 'COPO' box. The story of it being a COPO was neat, but even my 6 year old could figure out the printer error when seeing two broadcast sheets side-by-side!

If the L78 was a 'COPO', then the assy date was an 'RPO'!
