Details 1969 396 375hp SS Nova 19,538 miles

I did not post all the details on the car there was to much to tell. When anyone called this is what the condition of the car is. Originally bought in Oak Park IL out of Brigance Cheverolet sold by big "ED" himself. The 1st owner work as a service tech at the dealership, 6 weeks old he pulled the motor and trans out and sold it to his neighbor 8 houses away from his house. He still has the original motor today in Oak Park IL. The original trans is sold to a man in Barrington IL and he still has the original trans today. The original rear end is out of the car in my garage. The motor now in the car is a 1968 427 L-88 from a 1968 Corvette that came into the dealership for service for a knock sound, the 1st owner, then a service tech at the dealership, said it was a carbon knock that he fixed, but told the Vette owner it was blown so he then took the motor for himself and put it in his 1969 SS Nova when it was weeks old! The 1st owner lettered the car "Chevy Tuff II" and street raced the car on Harlem Ave in Oak Park IL since new. Thats why the car only has 19,500 miles on it. The condition of the orginal body is in original show condition, ZERO rust anywhere you look. Never hit! The interior is original 9 out of 10 condition, looks like never sat in seats. The carpet is the only replaced part inside cause he had a bolted in roll bar for show (2 bolts per post, not welded) The car was perfectly painted once in lacquer for the price of $18,000(have the receipt) cause of the hot rod lettering on the body panels. The 1st owner sold the car to his alley car buddy neighbor 2 houses away in Oak Park in the 80's and that is where the car is today. The engine compartment is in show condition I'll post picture from Saturdays pick up. Underneath is as good as the top. Just go drive or show the car, just needs Sunoco 110 race gas for the 560hp 12.5 comp 427 engine.

Again Thanks
Brgrman

Wow!! I live a stones throw away from Oak Park in Berwyn which it shares a border with! I have never heard of this car. PLEASE post some pics when you get a chance. What is the original owners name? I have done TONS of research on Brigance and Mr. Ed and maybe have heard of the guy especially if he worked there.

Who bought the car....wait I have a guess....at least I hope it was him! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

The original owner on the dealers paper work was Merritt M. Lovett from 841 n. Kenilworth st. Oak Park IL and Mr."Ed" was the salesman that sold the car. Thats what on the dealers paper work.

Wish you would have let me come see it since i asked you about 3 times on thursday morning before 8:00 am. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif You kept asking me why didn't I want to pull the trigger on it over the phone, and I said since i live only 25 miles from you I would have to see it before I buy it over the phone. You where supposed to call me and give me a time. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif O well thanks for nothing

You said you" wanted to see the car this week end or before the other people come for the car this Sat." I told you about the very serious buyers committed to come out this weekend from Ohio, TX and Pa. I knew that who ever will see the car first will buy it. To good of a car a real deal car. I never ever ask anyone to pull a trigger, I just tell them how serious the condition of the car being sold. I'm sorry if you took it the wrong way. I guess if you wanted to really buy the car you would have told me I'll be there today like the buyer of the car did, he's also a local person. What do they say" if you snooze" I forgot the rest.
But the good news is the guy who bought the car wanted other parts that came with the car and the 427 Corvette motor. He told me he thinks he will sell the car after he pulls the motor out.

I know where they are. The new owner of the car is going to pursue it very heavily he said. Yes the rear end goes with the car.
