One insanely expensive Holley carb

Posted this with ~35 minutes left to go...wonder where it'll wind up at?!? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

Looks kinda fishy the winning bidder so far has only bought 1 thing, and the other guy has only bought 20 things. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif and both bidders have 83% and 87% of there bids with this seller. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif

I saw that, but you never know...

The guy who purchased my old Pro Street `67 Chevelle was a zero-feedbacker on eBay and he came through just fine.

Ram Air V parts make ZL1 stuff look commonplace. If it's a real carb, it was a factory produced piece for an engine never released to the public.

Steve,

There's a guy in Middlesex NJ that has a complete (dated & assembled)
RA-V engine including the carb., distrib., etc.. I saw it a couple
of years ago and almost died! Yes, they are quite rare. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...-I-Have-It.gif

BTW, there were only 2 bidders for that carb auction.

Nuch

Who would've ever guessed that a pair of window corner mouldings would be in such high demand?

Or what about a pair of door switches?

How about some lug nuts??

Maybe a set of center caps are the last thing you need to wrap up that high-dollar restoration?

Santa?

No.

Capitalism?

Yes.

As long as there are people out there who need these parts and have the means to obtain them, then the only limiting factor is the buyers bank account and/or line of credit.

I've even seen $900.00+ spent on a NOS GM Hurst shifter bolt & nut on eBay a couple of years ago.

In light of the above, a $10K carb doesn't seem that difficult to believe.

[/ QUOTE ] Actually that individual has set about 30 ebay records. He must put 1M dollar proxy bids on everything he bids on. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

He does have a reputation for stepping up to the plate & swinging for the fence, that's for certain.
