Q-jet appears to have been built December 8, 1970. Since the Mustang / Cougar site says those carbs were used in 70 and 71, the stamped date makes it a 71 carb.

Freddie, is the Q-jet stamped with a number on the drivers side, above the secondary throttle shaft, on the main body? If it is, that will make decoding it much easier.

There were four different number Q-jets used on 70 429 Fords. The part numbers ARE NOT the same as the tag or stamp numbers. That carb is worth major $$$$. Q-jets were only used on Cobra Jet 429's....
