In '67 I didn't think the the standard SS stripes were cool, I peeled them off my red SS the day after I brought it home.

I was getting excited about how rare an LT1 A/C convert would be until I looked at the VIN. Fifth digit "K" indicates base engine.

Firestone red stripe

The F70 Wide Oval was introduced for the 1967 model year. In this image the top tire is the '67 only version, which is what the OP has. The bottom tire is the '68 version with the stripe moved closer...

Contrary to his statement, that is not a '65 issue 212 filter, not even '67. With the small raised lettering it might be '69 issue but appears to have white ink stamp lettering too??
