Re: Ultimate "Barn" Find?

Can you send a copy of the link to the auction?

BTW, Shelby never had a "car lot" that I am aware of.

Re: The BOSS is back!!!

I think Ford is doing it right and GM has a difficult road to recover. They have not paid back the bailout money and are beholden to the Unions and Obama. The results are cars like the $41K Volt...

Re: The BOSS is back!!!

That is a very impressive story on how the Ford engineers made sure everything was thought through and correct to live up to the legendary Boss name before they would release the car. Wow.

Re: 1970 road runner 6 bbl

If the car needs a total restoration, I would not be a buyer at $40K. Does it have a numbers block? Restoration costs would put you under water on the car pretty quickly. They are fun cars and...

Re: Info on Boss 302

To start with, I am assuming it has a G as the 5th digit in the VIN - required for a Boss 302. It should also have Disc brakes stock but as mentioned, these could have been converted over the years.

Re: 69 428 CJ Mustang value?

Numbers matching is not as big a deal for 69 Mustangs since many of the blocks did not have vin stamps. I have had several and never had one with a stamp nor did I ever have anyone question the...

Contacted Seller. It is not confirmed to be an L89, just rumored - here is a portion of the tank sticker showing L71 option. Block has been decked so numbers are no longer there. No Aluminum Heads....

Re: eBAY GT500kr

The car in the Ebay auction is a 1968 Shelby GT500 not a GT500KR. The GT500 has the S-code 428PI engine and would have been built in late 67 or early 68. The KR came out as a mid-year 68 and has...

Re: Ford Hood Scoop

Bill,

It primarily signifies the year of the vehicle but in some cases, parts are carried over another year. There is usually a separate date stamp on the part for when it was built.
I have...

Re: Ford Hood Scoop

First letter is decade, next number is year

example
C = 1960
D = 1970
C9 = 1969
D0 = 1970
D1 = 1971

It looks like the scoop is a 1971, assuming it is D1 and not DI

Re: did mach1 come with a 428c.i. in 69?

The Q code is the non-Ramair 428CJ, not as desirable as the R code Ramair 428CJ with Shaker. What is the rearend code?

Re: Any thoughts on the B-J auction...?

That Pontiac Bonneville Concept was kind of a letdown compared to last year. It was bidding like it was a $100K car not a $3M car - where was Ferrari Man?? Did he buy the car? He is hiding out...

Re: cleaning water spots

I use Meguiars #9 Swirl Remover - excellent product for removing light scratches and water spots. Safe for a clear coat finishes but you might want to check for original Lacquer or Enamel.
