Remember Crazy Jim's annual Labor Day Demo Derby? Hales Corners Speedway also held tractor pulls, motorcycle races (the concrete wall was unforgiving...one racer lost his life there) and snowmobile...

The racetrack disappeared about 10 years ago. It was about a half mile from my house. There's a Menard's on the site now. I'd go every Saturday night for the late models and would never miss a sprint...

The Nova was light blue...the Z28 was Forest Green with white stripes. The Z had 3.73 gears and the low end torque of the high revving 302 didn't make for much of a street car with that gear. I...
