I had a set of the bolt on Lakewood ladder bars...

I had a set of the bolt on Lakewood ladder bars on my '67. The bars were longer than the lower control arms, so it screwed up the suspension geometry and made the ride very stiff.

I blasted my thermostat housing with 100 grit...

I blasted my thermostat housing with 100 grit sand and then tumbled it in ceramic media and it came out looking like new, or at least I think so.

'69 Corvette gear ratio

How can I find out what the original gear ratio was in a '69 Corvette? It's a 390 HP 427 with a 4 speed and it has 4.56 gears in it now. I have the rear end out for repairs. It belongs to my uncle...

Like Darrell said, put the 4 speed back in and do it. I have to admit that it kind of hurt a little when I heard that you put an automatic in it.

I wonder why they started with a L78 4 speed car...

I wonder why they started with a L78 4 speed car and then converted it to a L34 with TH400. Seems like it would have been easier to just start with a car that had these already. Was there a problem...

I know there is a story here, so why was the L78 replaced with a L34 before the race? Seems to me that the L78 would have been the better engine for this purpose.

I haven't seen any H rockers on production line...

I haven't seen any H rockers on production line engines. All that I have seen were L rockers. I've seen over the counter engines with the H rockers. This is just from my limited experience with these.
