In my opinion Mikey is right. It looks like it was altered to look like an 837 and I have never seen any August of 69 dated 837's besides 9H6 and 9H25. That 7 does not look good...

Not sure what that speaker fits but it is not correct for any 70-72 Chevelle as far as I know.
Might want to research that a little more. 70-72 Chevelle dash speakers are 6X9 .

The capped design was the first design to show up on 69 model year Chevelle, Camaro and Nova.

Most likely Keith is referencing the red plastic plug that GM shipped in the Z bar that would have been removed when the car got serviced and had a grease fitting installed at that time.

Yes you are correct. I misspoke regarding the indexing on the Y77. Y55's are reversed but Y77's are setup with the negative terminal out by the fender. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

To the best of my knowledge, nobody reproduces a correct battery for any 69 Z28. Your car should have had a Y77 sidepost battery.
The only sidepost repro is a R89 which is not indexed...

Camaro and Chevelle are totally different parts. 69-72 Chevelle all use the same SS fenders emblems, GM # 3953658. 69-70 Chevelle also share the same 396 emblem on the fender GM # 3953679.
