Re: SCR; Thanks Clary Family!

Great time, thanks to everyone. The long wait in the afternoon was well worth it that night, the top fuel car and the gassers were awesome. It was an honor to be in the staging lanes with those guys,...

Re: 1968 nova 396/375 dyno results.

Chris, nice #'s. Seems a little torquey. Which intake # does your 68 use? Also, what kind of gain did you see with the plugs?

Re: Corvette LT1 Debut?

I don't think any 70' model Corvettes were produced before Jan. 1970. FWIW, LS5's were being built by VIN # 2730 for sure (I used to own that one), which I think corresponds to the first week in Feb.

Re: Is this a 1967' 302 engine?

Thanks, guys. Looks like it's rebuildable, so it will probably stay in a "full size" car for a while. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Is this a 1967' 302 engine?

He's going to re-check the deck stamping, the balancer, and the pad on the tranny also. They are double hump heads.
Thanks, Steve

Re: Is this a 1967' 302 engine?

Block is 3892657, heads 3890462 w / D 2 67 casting date? deck pad VO428HC? I'm not a small block guy and none of these #'s are familiar at all to me. I was just looking for some correct heads on my...

Is this a 1967' 302 engine?

My buddy just pulled a small block out of a 57' 210 coupe that he pulled out of a cow pasture. The block & head numbers show to be a 1967 302 or 327 with 2.02 intakes & 1.6 rockers. Is there any way...

1991 Z28 5.0 TPI ignition timing

I helped my son with an engine rebuild for the aforementioned car. He dropped the engine back in and neglected to set the initial static timing on the distributor. I vaguely remember having to...

Re: Camaro zl1 "clone" FAST/SUPERCAR series race build

Hey Ryan, nice looking car! When you're lined up against a green hemi Challenger next summer, try to remember that we have a lot in common, a yellow 69' & silver 98 SS ownership. Then take it easy on...

Re: Ken Veit's 69 Camaro runs 10.65 on GY Polyglas

Ken actually made a few minor suspension mods before he hit the new number, they helped. No traction control, fully treaded tires, 1.60's for 60' times, and one of the 2 best looking cars in the...

Re: Worst buying or selling decision!!

Winter of 76-77, passed on a beat up 67' fastback 427 corvette for $4,500. The seller said it had some special engine in it, what's so special about an L88? I was leery of that new-fangled transistor...

Re: 1971 LS6 Auto Distributor

The 439 12 vacuum advance is correct for both of the 1971 Corvette applications. I wonder if it's a service replacement part number?

Re: California cars

Thanks Anders, it seems like every COPO I've read about was a Norwood car, delivered from a midwest or east coast dealership.

This may be a stupid question, but were any 69 COPO Camaros built at the California plant? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I think I'm done vomiting now (after reading that bull$hit). They could have just cut to the chase, by apologizing for operating a capitalist organization in what is now a socialist country.

Re: '70 Challenger rear end vin stamping?

And I might add that while it's only the last 8 digite of the VIN, the first two letters are transposed. IE: if the last 8 of actual vin was "0B262759" then what you will find is...

For what it's worth; Many years ago a very knowledgeable friend of mine showed me all of the partial VIN stampings on a car (70 Challenger) that we were gutting. He showed me the following locations...
