Please don't take anything out of that rear end without measuring backlash and doing a pattern check on it first. Once you remove parts it's too late to do this and you will have no idea how to set...

Moving the shifter forward wouldn't be too hard....

Moving the shifter forward wouldn't be too hard. It would require raising it a little bit, which might be just as bad in some cases. A new mounting bracket and new rods would take care of moving it...

If you can not find one that is the correct size...

If you can not find one that is the correct size then a good machine shop should be able to cut down an existing after market seat to fit the current hole in the head.

The add says that a new L88 short block was installed. To me this means that the original iron heads were used. The iron heads would have been closed chamber and the L88 would have open chamber...

If you are going to use a jumper wire for + then I would also use a jumper for -. You might use a Chrysler resistor with the + jumper to protect the ignition.

The Detroit Locker in my Camaro is from a '69 Mach 1. I guess Ford is the only manufacturer that installed them.
