Re: 455 HO Engine WC Code 4Spd

Too bad to see an HO formy die. Did you know the car?

As far as the RA vs nonRA codes from above, Boss was confusing the block coding with the carbs. In 71, there were 4 carb #s, manual and auto...

Polyglas GT L60x15 Questions

Where Polyglas GT L60x15s original equipment on any car when new? What would an original one with minor wear and a small rub around the face from quarter panel be worth (could make nice trunk spare)?

Does anyone know how many blue ones were manufactured in 1971?

[/ QUOTE ]

There are no official numbers but it is believed that around 30% were blue.

Re: Caswell Copycad Zinc Plating Kit

Thanks for the reply Dave.

Have you done Zinc Dichromate with it (brake booster, etc)? How does that turn out? As good as Gregori's?

Re: Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner - what's it from?

The chrome lid looks to be a repop chevy lid. The air cleaner itself is correct for '70-'72 GTO or Grand Prix. The '69 GTOs had a wider spread on the snorkels and the '68s were single snorkel. The...

Re: Replicating Factory Spot Weld Appearance

I have to agree, that does look really good. Especially the ones made with the newest tool. What did you use for the female side on the one you just made?

Re: Replicating Factory Spot Weld Appearance

Thanks Mike. On your vice grip it looks like you layered up 5 pieces of something to make the dimple side of your die. What did you use for that?

Mike, I would be interested in seeing the results using your vice grip approach.

Bob, what method did you use to get those results?

A couple of ideas I had were to either use a round punch and...

Re: Pontiac 455HO or SD clean project car.

I know Larry. I just talked to him a few weeks ago. He had a few leads for me but one was a done car (trailer queen) and the other was actually not for sale. I do call him from time to time.
