I tried to order them through Ed Stinn Chevrolet back in 1977-1978, no luck, discontinued! Even tried to order them through Jackshaw Pontiac (Firebird had same part #), no luck! Found one LH & one RH...

Big Block Chevy oil pan ID

It looks like a 65 -67 Impala pan with the two stepped drop, it also has the earlier Large nut oil pan plug. But it could be an earlier truck pan. Does it have a welded baffle in the inside?Don.

Smog pump fan color

My brother Dan had an original '72 Monte Carlo 402 w/TH400, back in the late seventies. It had a smog pump (which I have now) and the fan color is black. Don.

R68GTO: You are correct that the u-joints were held by straps & bolts for the '69 model year rears. The rear of the axle housing painted orange and the orange dots on the axle flange were done later...

Excellent decision on muffler placement, since a lot of states require exhaust exit to be at the least to the rear axle to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Dodge that ticket!
