My guess is that the TT is original to the car, but the car has been cloned into an SS396. The only 'evidence' the seller is relying on to try and justify it being an SS396 is a non-pictured engine...

I used 'Best In Show' steering wheel restoration in California to repair the cracked wheel from my 69 Chevelle. I have had it back from them for 6 years now and no issues with it....

Very cool, and nice to see it's still around and restored nicely. That's the upside....the downside is that it only lends fuel to the fire for the "back then you could order anything you want"...
