My Bill Thomas traction bars have the front bracket moved back slightly which is how they were in the 1970-1/2 catalog. I don't know what exact year the change occurred.

Looks like that pipe may have been painted on this car. I think the primary focus was the blacking out of the tank. I have seen the lower part of the muffler done and also seen some varying levels...

Darrell, Van Nuys Camaros got their gas tanks painted black on the assembly line. Also, the pinch weld along the lower rear of the quarter panel in many cases got the blackout treatment.

Chevrolet did give out parts to some racers. Maybe not as directly as Ford and Mopar but it did happen. Fred Gibb did get a cross ram for Little Hoss and this was before he became more high profile...
