Wouldn't option 1 result in a square/oval port mismatch? I've read where this can actually work OK, bit there really shouldn't be a reason to do it in your case.

Pretty sure this was a Service only water pump. I thought all L-88's and ZL-1's came with cast iron water pumps. I think this casting comes on the 502 crate motors now.

Once he stamps it, the numbers match. May not have been the 'born with' motor, but the numbers match. I'm surprised at the money this car is bringing- doesn't add up to me.
