[/ QUOTE ] Rob, I gotta agree with you about not enough piston to fill those #074 chambers! I put a set of aluminum #077's on my stock 1970 LS-6 closed chamber motor and it really neutered it down. Sure it's more pump gas friendly and even runs a little cooler but it doesn't have the snap that it used to. I even used a very thin Cometic head gasket (.022, I think) to simulate the original thin steel embossed gasket. Lately, I've been thinking of a piston swap or maybe even putting back on the old #291 iron closed chambers.
