-----Very cool jacket, Groucho!!!

........Bill S
[/ QUOTE ]Thanks man. I was very proud when Big Willie himself presented it to me. In the 60's, as a kid in New York, I'd see the guys in Socal, in the magazines wearing those jackets. I thought, wow, there can't be a cooler name for a car club. Not knowing that I'd some day become a member. I know a LOT of people out there frown on street racing, and rightfully so. But, many sanctioned racing evolved from street racing, like it or not.
In the 70's-80's, when I street raced, it was in the wee hours of the morning, in industrial parks, with absolutely no intersecting side streets, and we safely policed ourselves. If someone did something un-safe, they were told to leave, and to be welcomed back next week if they abided our rules. BUT, they were "DONE" for that night. The crap that goes on today, that's labeled street racing, is nothing more than vehicular stupidity, and an insult to what I did. Thanks again for the words, much appreciated.
Sorry, I just felt compelled to share before someone gave me crap for being a Street Racer

I remember those days...this tended to happen off of Beach Blvd up near La Mirada...and also by the old Hughes plant off of Mira Loma (at least close to where we hung out)
