The usual question is whether the "factory" built a 427 Chevelle in 1967. We all know that dealers like Motion, Yenko, and Fred Gibb also did transplants as well as using the COPO ordering system to a do an end run around the normal system. Any other dealer could have installed a crate engine for a customer at his request. While the cars done by the big name dealers draw a much bigger dollar, I doubt that my local dealer's installs, had he done any, would grab the same attention or high dollar. Factory '67 427 Chevelles are about as rare as hens' teeth. We might see one yet some day. You just never know.

Chevelleless after 46 years......but we did find a low mileage, six speed, silver 2005 Corvette. It will just have to do for now.
