----My first year with &quot;Red&quot; (1990) was mostly a getting used to it year, and one weekend I went to a nostalgia meet at a strip down in Darlington. My main competition was a 70 Hemi-Cuda that had also held the world record for a time in D/SA. A really great guy from West Virginia named Donnie brought it along with a couple of other Mopars. We raced 3 times that weekend and I beat Donnie all 3 times, two out of three on the big end, as my reaction times were abysmal. Donnie could not believe that Red Alert beat him on the big end. He claimed that no LS6 could come from behind and walk a Cuda out the back door. That was with my first &quot;baby&quot; motor (roughly 650hp). Actually, Im not sure what this has to do with the two subject cars but I do love telling the story...........Bill S </div></div>

the original owner of my 4-speed, 4.10, LS6 said he never lost a race to a hemi car - challengers, roadrunners, etc... but tri-power and L88 Vettes would get him every time.
