Re: ZL1 # 62
Beautiful car, Stunning car in fact.
I'm a big fan of all things ZL-1.
However, I find it......entertaining when a seller needs 12 paragraphs of verbiage to explain to the buyer what he's looking at and what dots need to be connected.
"If you're at all familiar with the market, you know that the last aluminum ZL1 block to become available sold for $75,000" Really, I guess I missed that one. Maybe I should buy the one I know of for 45K that has all the factory internals with it.
"does the body or the engine make it a real ZL1?"....The body makes it a real ZL-1, the engine makes it run like a real ZL-1.
"Would a real ZL1 body with a replacement iron 427 still be a ZL1 Camaro" I think we all know the answer to that..YES!!!
Joe gets a heart transplant. The heart comes from a guy name Bill. Joe doesn't change his name to Bill.
I don't think you would ever see an auction house refer to a Camaro with a real ZL-1 engine as a ZL-1. On the other hand any real ZL-1 body with any engine or no engine would always be referred to as a ZL-1.
There's nothing blatantly false about the ad but clearly by virtue of the ad copy and the price 180K??? the seller is trying to make the case that there's little difference between two.
JMO
Beautiful car though.
