The stories of factory anomalies are very true. There will be plenty of eyewitness accounts of 4 speed builds positioned on the final assembly line where a body was miss sequenced for an automatic.</div></div>
Agree - I know of at least one pickup truck we built that was a four speed trans but didn't have the floor cut out in the cab. The repair man chopped the hole in the floor with a hammer and chisel - while the line was still running and the cab was teetering on the chassis.

I can attest to a few of those, too; even front ends that were sequenced correctly but two toned wrong, or had the correct emblem on one side but the wrong nameplate on the other....
