IMO, if you are only interested in the $$$ aspect of it, then dump it on ebay again. If you are interested in re-uniting it with the chassis, then maybe you could take payments for 5 years or consider taking a loss on it.. You have no connection to the engine since it was an item that you were simply the high bidder on, and maybe the chassis owner has been looking for this engine for twenty years.
I do think that it's great that you came to a forum of enthusiasts for advice, instead of parting it out or putting it in a Hyundai...
So in the end, I'd say to find out a way to re-unite it...
