My guess on the 'B&M 388' stamp is it's from some trans shop that went thru it at some point in time (March of 88?) [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif[/img]
Unfortunately, not all transmissions (or engines) got the CON VIN stamping to show exactly what car it originally came in. They were to be stamped on an assembly line by a human being, and mistakes/omissions were not unheard of.
