They are factory stripes. The date on the back of the picture is March 1970, and the "Car Shipper" sheet shows 6D96DA Sport Striping. I suppose it's possible the car had been repainted in a few months after it was new, but he did have some earlier pictures that were from the fall of `69 that the stripe looked the same.
