All 4 speed Deuces came with a BB cross member, we don't know exactly why. I speculate that it's due to GM reusing COPO 9737 from prior year(s) where it was utilized on BB cars. I once did measurements on the Pontiac SB version which looks exactly the same but without the ~1/2&quot; offset, and found that the Deuces did indeed use the Chevy BB version.
