Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
What is old is new again........
I was given the contact information and a recommendation to discus my engine build with one of the lead machinists at the very first place I researched and visited. We had a quick chat to discuss main goals and such, now we will get together and discuss the details.
I am looking to push my limits and assemble the engine myself. I am learning so much and enjoying this restoration so much it would be a shame to miss this opportunity to build my own engine.
I will receive a machining quote, and have a parts cost figured out, (I will check if everything is the same or less cost purchased through this company) I also will have a time and material rate so any fine work such as degre-ing the cam, or checking valve train geometry can be done T&M
This feels right and if I make a mistake I will learn from it. The risk is mine to take and I am getting off the Porch!!!
As you know I was hands off for the M20 transmission rebuild, and that has been a major jump forward. Nick has offerered to show me how to assembly a Muncie 4 speed:-) I will take him up on this, possibly to assemble my M22?
Ryan
