45k is not too steep asking on it... would be nice if the smog were there for that price, missing the correct water pump, (hard to find and expensive), smog pump, and the exhaust tips - probably whole exhaust are replacement (originals tips have no GM part number - just the welded seam and welded around rear perimeter "box").
It is pretty difficult to get into a completely numbers matching (down to hose clamps sure tight script 28's) nice show-able drive-able condition LT1 coupe for under 40k.
To step into a Top Flight original paint coupe at the 45-50k mark would be pretty good - and you could probably find either a restored or original paint car which would fit the bill for for that kind of number... if you worked at it you may find a roadster for that kind of money.
This car would need to be analyzed using a set of judging sheets and someone knowledgeable about 72's.
