Correct Quadrajet p/n for '67 Chevelle SS 396/325
I am starting this thread because I recently found a similar thread on this topic for a '69, but it was 8 years old. Hopefully, I will get some responses. I'm glad I found that old thread! That Quadrajet Table by p/n and year in that thread is amazing!
Here’s my question: I bought a ‘67 Chevelle SS 396/325 TH400 car with the original engine (never been out of the car apparently), but it has a replacement Quadrajet by Carter p/n 7029202 (same for Chevelle, Camaro, etc).
Apparently, this replacement carb was installed at some point by removing the Quadrajet my engine was born with. My car was assembled in Atlanta the 3rd week in May 1967, and the engine was assembled May 10th at Tonawanda, NY.
So, which Quadrajet carburetor would have been on my engine from the factory? It has to be one of 3 models: 7027200 (early), 7027210 (late) or 7027216 (3rd Type)?
I have researched this as far as possible, but I haven’t found anything with respect to when each type of ‘67 Rochester Quadrajet of the three models were released for production/engine assembly.
Any help on this would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
John
