Re: Jack Head Chevrolet-Alhambra California
Belair62,
It was great to see your COPO Chevelle again.
I remember having seen advertisements for Jack Head Chevrolet in many of the major publications, of the day.
I even reacll having seen an adv. for 427 Camaros and Chevelles from Jack Head. I had thought that they were possible conversion cars, at the time I saw it, based on their involvement in Hi-po parts and drag racing.
The March 1969 issue of 'Drag Racing' has a half page adv. on page 75. It says "The newest and Most complete Hi-Performance sales and service in the Los Angeles area. Stop in and see our sales force. We'll make any deal.
Home of the Mako Shark, Don Cullian and Jim Wetton."
400 West Valley Blvd., Alehambra, Calif.
Their Bowtie crest has the Mako Shark funny car and Hi-performance division under the Bowtie.
There are also eight mug shots of their staff on the top of the page.
This mag has other cool stuff in it. Like the anouncement of the New Berger Hi-Po catalogue, Berger's own 1/2 page Hi-po parts adv., a pic of Dick Harrell's 'Super Camaro' Yenko Funny car sideways on one wheel, an article on the ZL1 engine and a bunch of other cool "stuff".
