Default Re: Yenko Wheels

ACES, the Fenton wheels are the same as the orginal American Torque-Thrusts, not the D's. The current Torque Thrust D is a new version of the old D except that the back of the spoke is not curved like the original. The originals were made to clear disc brakes on GM cars from 67-68 and Corvettes.

The wheels used on the Yenkos were made by the Atlas foundry and were very similar to the Torque Thrusts and the Fenton Hustler III's. It would be very hard to tell them apart from one another once mounted on the car. The Fentons and Americans have the wheel name cast into the backs of the wheels where the Atlas wheels do not. Also the backs of the spokes do not have any reinforcing ribs where some of the Americans and Fentons do: depends on wheel size. See attached picture I found on this site a few months ago of an Atlas wheel. If you look at the backs of the wheels you will notice that the lettering cast into them is identicle to the lettering that American used on their Torque Thrusts except they say Hustler III instead.

What size did you say these wheels are? Are they for sale?........................RatPack.............. ..........
