Default I'm * WAY * outta my league on this one .... but .

I was asked to go with a friend from work to look at a 69 Corvette. He found out about via a friend of a friend - blah - blah - blah. I'm told the car is *rough*, but can be bought for somewhere around $6k.

Here's what I know after looking at it. Now I need you guys to help me out.

It's a 427/390 4-spd car. All original, original QJet, original manifolds (intake and exhaust), etc. etc. All the drivetrain stuff is intact. The frame is a rusted out POS ! The body is really pretty nice, hood is nice, t-top car. Orange with black interior.

Here's the kicker - It's a * Powered by Berger * stickered 427. Chrome (rusted) valve covers have the Berger sticker on the drivers side, and it's got a *period* Edelbrock ignition box (Phase-O-Matic ??) on the inner fenderwell, and tach drive distributor. The engine doesn't looked like it has ever been messed with. I'm sure it is simply a 69 Vette that came from Berger Chevrolet, but it still is kinda neat having that kinda heritage. Frame is junk - plain and simple. Think it's worth $6k or reasonable offer ? My friend is definitely not up to that kinda task (I don't know if I am either - but I always see the *good* in a musclecar, not the rusty hulk that it truly is ....).

Kinda a cool find though - a 427 Berger Corvette.
