Canadians are actually very apathetic about most everything, especially international events. I'm surprised at their reaction during the US national anthem -- personally, I think the real problem is that Montreal's hockey team sucks and the fans knew they were about to get whipped by the Islanders.
I know these things because I'm Canadian, I moved to the US from Montreal, and I have a shrine to Jean Beliveau.
