Re: What 's a 69 SS 396/350 ragtop is worth?
Thanks again, Jeff.
Point taken on rarity, but that may also mean that there aren't necessarily tons of competing buyers.
Surprisingly, the 1st Gen cars are pretty popular, but not as much as in the Scandinavian countries (ask COPOAnders or NEW). Plus, GIs serving here and in Germany left a few behind. I'm sure you remember?
They are here though. The Indy Cars were here last week and I, in addition to some other London area US car owners, was invited to do a parade lap of the Brands Hatch circuit prior to the start of the race. The weather was too unsettled for me to take the COPO, but there was a Z11, a 68 RS and a 67 there (plus a Superbird, a host of old Caddy's and some guy in an early 80s Caprice Classic wagon). Just as in the States, the pony cars (and C2 Vettes) have a huge following in Europe because of their race heritage.
I'm still hoping to stumble across some long lost COPO in the hands of some unsuspecting Brit. I'll just have to convince Mr. Cunneen to come and drink some warm beer to make sure...
