Scott,
The one on the Benchmark LS6 (now owned by Chad) is the real deal and is the original to the car. That same version in reproduction that I have seen (and also the later GM replacements) have capped ends not the necked down version as seen in the first attachment. The wrap around front version was used on the L78's and early LS6 cars prior to going to the second design in (I believe) around January 1970. Paragon Corvettes sells a very good reproduction as does another Vette vendor (their name escapes me) and these also come available on e-bay from time to time. The repos (2nd design) are pretty good except for the color as originals have a brownish tint to them vs black.

The repos are acceptable to all but Diamond Certification cars as far as I know.
