I have an update on the camaro. It doesn't sound like the real deal after further conversation with the current owner.
It had it's original fenders on it and they were drilled for engine emblems. Additionally, it had no gauge package or Tach.
Sounds like the BB heater core was added at a later date to make the package complete. Finally there was no documentation or owner history available.
Time to start looking again. Thanks to all for your help.
