Re: Yenko Duece Seen In The Movie "Italian Job"
WOW that is weird!! I just saw the movie myself tonight as well! I actually rented the movie just to see the Deuce clone in it because I heard about the scene.
About the car. It is a clone, it's a 1971, it is black, was NOT in Fast & the Furious 2, and was on e-bay a while back. I don't think that it sold for what the seller wanted which wasn't over 20K if memory serves.
I personally think that it is awesome that Yenko's have made the main stream. Yenko's are finally getting the recognition that they deserve. I rented F&F2 and The Italian Job yesterday just to see the Yenko cars in the movies. Believe it or not the last time this Deuce was mentioned some members frowned upon the cars being in the movies. How could you possibly be upset about it? Who cares if their are some "incorrect" things about the way the cars were done. They were right for the most part and for the brief time that the cars were featured they were done OK. Would you rather it had been REAL cars that were damaged or smashed while making the movies?
I think that exposure of more Yenko's featured in muscle car magazines, places like this web site, and shows like the Supercar Reunion have helped to bring them into the lime light. One way it might be helpful for the hobby is people that have had them stashed away might realize that they have something special and want to share them with the rest of us enthusiasts.
